Network

There are limited services for sickle cell disease patients in Nepal. Services geared towards sickle cell disease have only been actively present since 2014. We work with organizations and government agencies spread across Nepal, and internationally, to coordinate efforts on genetic blood disorders. Hemoglobinopathies are neither restricted to a single district in Nepal, nor to a single country, if you wish to collaborate, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Governmental Services
सरकारी सेवाहरु

Contrary to what has been reported in some Nepali media reports, the Government of Nepal does not offer free treatment for sickle cell disease in Nepal. The Government of Nepal through the “Disadvantaged Citizen Medicine and Treatment Fund” covers up to 100,000 Nepali Rupees for treatment services to patients who have been diagnosed with sickle cell disease. Treatment services include any medication and hospitalization costs received through a governmental hospital. Please keep in mind that the Government is not giving direct cash support.

The designated hospitals for sickle cell disease in Nepal are as follows: (1) Civil Service Hospital, Minbhawan, Kathmandu (2) Sub-Regional Hospital, Ghorahi, Dang (3) Lumbini Zonal Hospital, Butwal, Rupandehi (4) Bheri Zonal Hospital, Nepalgunj, Banke (5) Seti Zonal Hospital, Dhangadi, Kailali (6) Mahakali Zonal Hospital, Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur (7) District Hospital Nawalparasi (8) District Hospital Kapilvastu (9) District Hospital Bardiya

नेपाल सरकारले सिकल सेल रोगको बिरामीहरुलाई निःशुल्क उपचार दिंदैन तर सरकारले विपन्न नागरिक औषधि उपचार कोष बाट सिकल सेल एनिमिया रोग भएका विरामीलाई जिवन भरका लागि रू १,००,००० (एक लाख) सम्मको सुविधा उपलब्ध गराउन्छ। यो सुविधामा अस्पताल खर्च र औषधि खर्च जस्ता कुरा समावेश छन्। याद राख्नुहोस्: सरकारले बिरामीहरुलाई नगद दिंदैन तर उपचारको खर्च विपन्न नागरिक औषधि उपचार कोषले ब्योहोरने छ।

विपन्न नागरिक औषधि उपचार कोषले सेवा प्रदान गर्ने अस्पतालहरु यस प्रकार छन्: (१) निजामति कर्मचारी अस्पताल, मिनभवन, काठमाडौँ (२) उप क्षेत्रीय अस्पताल, घोरही, दाङ (३) लुम्बिनि अंचल अस्पताल, वुटवल, रुपन्देही (४) भेरी अंचल अस्पताल, नेपालगंज, बाँके (५) सेती अंचल अस्पताल, धनगढी, कैलाली (६) महाकाली अंचल अस्पताल, महेन्द्रनगर, कंचनपुर (७) जिल्ला अस्पताल नवलपरासी (८) जिल्ला अस्पताल कपिलवस्तु (९)जिल्ला अस्पताल बर्दिया ।
